HEATHER & GRANT

EAST QUAY VENUE

Heather & Grant asked me to photograph their wedding at East Quay Venue this past October and I could not be happier with how everything turned out for them! It was so so beautiful, so relaxed, chilled and I had LOADS of fun shooting with them (especially when Heather said she wanted to run into the sea!!!) Plus it was my last wedding of the year so I wanted to go out with a bang, and I certainly did!!

The morning

Myself & Lewis (who came along to shoot alongside me for some experience) turned up at the most beautiful, authentically Whitstable, Airbnb where Heather & her bridesmaids had stayed over the night before. The whole morning was super relaxing and it was lovely to be a part of such a chilled out vibe. Heather’s outfit is a stunning Anika skirt and Danielle top by Catherine Deane and the Darla lace jacket from Sassi Holford. The bridesmaids dresses (which i LOVE the colour of) are Maya. The absolutely gorgeous bouquets were made by Heather and the girls the day before. They visited a place in Kent called ‘Blooming Green Flowers’ where they picked their own flowers and assembled them all themselves, they smelt amazing! Hair was styled by Hayley of Flame Beauty.

The ceremony at East Quay Venue

Grant wore a handmaid suit made in Dehli, India a few years ago and the buttonholes and venue decor was by Jane at Graham Greener. Grant and the guys (who wore Moss Bros suits) waited at the top of the aisle as the girls came in one by one, followed by Heather and her Dad. It was, again, so relaxed and wonderful to be a part of!

The photos

It was a lovely October day, with very typical British weather (i.e rainy and windy!) but it did not stop us!!! It was a little bit (very) chilly but we absolutely embraced it! We had so much fun running around the beach as Heather’s veil caught in the wind and they snuggled into each other to regain some warmth, it made for some lush photos. Just before Heather & Grant sat down for their meal, Heather insisted we run into the sea for some more photos. Obviously I was super excited about that and with wet feet, they rocked it!!

The reception

One of my favourite details of the day was the place names that had individual film synopsis created by Grant (who is a film director!) and Heather. Each guest featured in their own little film (have a little read when you spot them down below!).

Thank you SO much Heather & Grant for inviting me to capture your day, it was a absolute pleasure. Now let’s get on with the photos below!
